Satin Lined Beanie

Handmade

Though I typically wear my hair big and curly, during the colder months I occasionally straighten it or wear a protective style. This gives me the chance to wear hats of different kinds. When winter rolls around, beanies are my preference because of their soft warmth. I usually have to wear a satin bonnet underneath the beanie itself to protect my hair, but I’ve finally found a combination that eliminates the layering! This chunky beanie from Swak Couture comes in an array of colors and the owner Amina makes everything to order.

I wouldn’t try to order this as a last minute gift idea. It took 2 months for me to get mine because of how busy she was during the holidays and slow postal. Now that the wait is over, I am so pleased with the quality of this hat. The wool is thick and woven in a wonderful chunky pattern, there’s plenty of stretch to accommodate my large head/hair and the matching satin lines the entire interior. I would recommend using bobby pins to keep this in place because otherwise the satin makes it fall off (especially for those with thinner hair than mine.)
